Shannon gained his veterinary degree (Hons) in 1998. Shannon has worked with both companion and farm animals but his interests are small animal surgery.

Greg gained his veterinary degree (Hons) in 1992. Greg works with all aspects of farm animals but has a strong interest in equine surgery and reproduction.

Jo Graduated in 2003 from the University of QLD.  She worked at Gympie Veterinary Services for 2 years after graduating.  Jo then travelled and worked in England as an emergency Vet.
  Jo came back to us in January 2007.  Her interests include small animal surgery and cattle medicine.

Justin graduated in 2004 (HONS). Justin has spent 2 years in a rural mixed practice in QLD, where he spent the majority of his time working with cattle and horses and in particular Feedlot consultancy. Justin has been in Gympie since 2007 and is interested in all aspects of farm animal medicine and production, but particularly cattle medicine. Justin has completed post-graduate training in equine dentistry. Justin also has an agricultural degree in animal production.

Dr Cathy Milgate

Qualified from Liverpool in 1993 with distinction. Cathy has worked in mixed practice ever since. Cathy has worked mostly in England and Wales and now in Australia. In Australia Cathy has worked in small animal medicine and complimentary therapies including homeopathy which she finds helpful in many cases.

Steve graduated in 1984 (HONS) from Melbourne University. Steve has worked in rural mixed and equine practices in Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales, UK and now Queensland. His main interest and expertise is horse medicine, reproduction, Ultrasound, surgery, Ophthalmology and general mixed practice including alpacas, Steve gained membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 2000 by examination in horse medicine

Lachlan graduated his veterinary science (HONS) degree at the University of QLD in 2008. Prior to this Lachlan completed a BSc majoring in parasitology and a BScApp (HONS) on Neospora in cattle whilst working for a period with the DPI at the Animal Research Institute at Yeerongpilly. Lachlan is interested in both small and large animal medicine and surgery but particularly cattle medicine. Lachlan also has a special interest in Avian medicine

Dan graduated from University of QLD in 1998. Since then he has worked in Maleney, and Sydney. Dan has just returned to Australia after 4 years in England running a practice in Essex. Dan started again at Gympie and District Vet Services (he was with us for a short while in 1999) in 2006. Dan also works at the Sunshine Coast pet emergency clinic as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dan’s main interest is small animal surgery.

Dr Cara McDougall

Cara graduated from the university of QLD in 1999.  Since then Cara worked in a Sydney small animal practice for 2 1/2 years after which she travelled to th U.K. where she managed a practice for 4 years.  Eventually the cold and rain got to her so a return to Australia was necessary.
Cara started at Gympie Veterinary Services part time in 2008.  Her main interests are feline medicine and endocrine disease.

Brett Hall
Practice Manager

Brett has been with Gympie Veterinary services in the role of practice manager since early 2006.  Prior to Gympie Veterinary Services, Brett held various managerial positions in hospitalty.  Some of the highlights include being manager of the Ettamogah Pub on the Sunshine Coast, being a restaurant Manager for a number of LoneStar Steakhouses and also managing a Fine Dining restaurant in Portsea Victoria.

Sara  Gruber
Large Animal Coordinator

Sara has been a valuable member of the team at Gympie Veterinary Services since late 2002.  Sara coordinates the large animal veterinarians as well as managing Gympie Veterinary Services Reception staff.
