The practices vision statement was produced in 2005. This was a compilation of values and goal put forward by the staff at the time. It encompasses how they feel and what they strive towards in their day to day work.
“By offering compassionate, high quality and total animal health care, we strive to nurture the bond between humans and their family pets”
All staff are to ensure:
No animal is to be left in pain
No suffering animal will be refused medical treatment or humane euthanasia
They respect clients, staff and themselves
Clients are always offered the best treatment for their pets first
A safe, clean and hygenic working environment
Truthful and open communication
Compassionate care for all animals
All staff at Cessnock Veterinary Hospital have a set of guidelines that they follow in their everyday work. Again this was a compilation of what the staff in the practice felt were important values or “commandments” that were important to them and that they all could follow. These are listed below and are known as their Core Values.
Cessnock Veterinary Hospital has had a long and prestigious history in the township. One of the current Partners, David Barton, purchased the practice in 1989 from Janet Cridland. The practice was originally located in a converted house in Condon Avenue. David and his wife Lucinda Booth successfully built the practice over the next 2 years. With the growth of the practice came the need for bigger premises and in 1991 the current practice was built.
Cessnock Veterinary center is now located on the busy Wollombi Road. It is a custom designed, purpose built practice that boasts state of the art medical and surgical facilities for the healthcare and well being of their patients. Out the back a large treatment room, modern surgery , isolation ward and radiology facilities ensure the best care for their patients. The Centre is equipped with endoscopy , ultrasound , radiology equipment & extensive in- clinic laboratory facilities as well as specialized boarding and hospitalization areas.
